“I’m President Mama!”

My daughter and son came home absolutely hyper and giddy with happiness.  My son was so excited he was practically slobbering to spit out the news.

Luckily daughter C beat him to the punch (or she would probably be maaaaaad) and shouted “I’m President Mama!”

Turns out, today was the day for class elections from Grade 4 and up.  She was nominated by her classmates and she was then elected into the position of “Chairperson/President” of their class.

She can’t believe she was even nominated, much less to have won.  She can’t believe her classmates voted for her because she’s the youngest person in the whole batch and sometimes she gets an attack of insecurities.  She said there are other people who are smarter and has been in the school longer (and therefore, are better known in her thinking) than her. She kept saying over and over again “I can’t believe they chose me!”

The validation her classmates gave her was obviously a thrill for her.

I am so ecstatic for her.  She deserves it.  She’s a hard worker.  She genuinely enjoys the company of her schoolmates.  She is helpful and loving.  And she has a such good heart.

Congratulations C.. you’re growing up so fast.

  1. I forgot to mention that the surprise stems from the fact that their sections are jumbled every year which means she has different classmates every school year.
