PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY: http://www.lazada.com.ph. My hubby was so excited when he purchased a Macbook Pro that was on sale from this company.  He called the company multiple times to confirm if the item posted online was the specs and the model he wanted.  He wanted to make sure it was on stock before he purchased it.  They confirmed with him that it was the item he wanted and it was on hand. He was giddy at having made a good deal. After a few days, they emailed  him and and they told him that they will not process the sale if he does not provide additional information.  They demanded that he send a photo of his credit card even though he already encoded all the card information on the site to make the initial purchase, BOTH FRONT AND BACK, and a photo of his driver’s license.  He did as they asked because we made our research and it was found that this was a reputable company. Lazada2 They even sent an email that the item will be delivered within 5 days. Lazada3 Today, they called him and said the item is not in stock and he should just use the funds they already deducted from his card for other items on the site. This kind of bait and switch style of sales is unacceptable. In addition, we are put at risk because of their demands for photos of the credit card. They did agree to give us a full refund, however, it feels like they are just doing this to get credit card information and they are not doing legitimate business.  After all, they have confirmed multiple times already that the item is on hand.   Today, I found out my cousin also bought a thermos from them a few weeks ago because they promised a 10% discount.  But when the credit card was billed, there was NO discount. To be safe: just don’t buy from them.

  1. I’m a victim too. I bought an Android tablet from them. When I got the item, it was not working. I wrote them my complaint through e-mail and they replied and instructed me to send them back their item. I had the item repacked and sent the gadget back to them as per their instructions. They never contacted me since. I sent a couple of e-mail messages but they never replied. It’s been 5 or 6 months and they have not sent a replacement nor refunded my payment. I agree with you. DON’T ever buy from this stupid company.

    • me too. ang dami ko na naorder from them pero so far so good. I suggest, kung gusto nyo credit card ipambayad pero ayaw nyo magsend ng copy ng ID, just use paypal. I always use Paypal or COD. At least pag COD machecheck mo muna un item before paying them. 😉

      I had a similar experience with Lazada as you did Jan. I ordered the Mickey Mouse luggage sold at 50% off the original price. I ordered two and the huge ad on their homepage says “guaranteed delivery before Christmas if you order by (a certain date). My order was before the cut off date so I was pretty confident I got a good deal.

      Someone from Lazada called my two days after to tell me they MAY not be able to deliver before the agreed date. I was confused, so I asked her “and you put that GUARANTEE clause on your website in big, bold letter???” I told her she has 3 more days to get me my items and she hung up without being clear if they can comply.

      I got an email the following day telling me that they cannot process my order since the item is already “out of stock”. Can you believe that???

      I sent them several emails telling them what a big joke Lazada is using my Inquirer email address. I told friends about my experience and posted it on FB. That way, a lot of people can be warned.

      Oh, I got my refund, by the way. All hell would’ve broken loose if I hadn’t.

  2. I bought a book from this website even though the reviews I read online were not favorable. You know, just to test the waters. They told me that it will be delivered after 5 days. At the back of my mind, I knew it was going to arrive 2 weeks later. Lo and behold, it arrived 2 days after I made the order. As I chose COD as my method of payment, I was massively caught off guard. I was not able to prepare cash beforehand. Good thing, our helper had some spare to lend me.

    Well, that was my experience with Lazada. Will I do another transaction with them? Hell no! I’ve read too much negative reviews about this website.

    I am sorry if you have encountered this unfortunate experience. And it was a wise decision to have your husband’s credit card immediately cancelled.

    For example the original price of iPad 2 in the market WiFi/Cellular is PHP 25,000.00
    But as the price they posted it was higher than the original price and they said, they lessen the price from the original higher rice to a lower original price which is PHP – 25,000.00 and you will see they lessen a big great deal saying -20+

    • I haven’t seen the too good to be true deals for gadgets you guys have seen thus far in Lazada. Whenever I check, the prices I’ve seen are higher than other stores online or at times even with a physical location.

      For example, there’s a PhP 12,000 difference between http://bit.ly/13Ecc93 (Lazada listing) and http://bit.ly/16jQUj9 (PCCorner’s price for the same item).

      Granted, shopping online is very convenient, but for big-ticket items, I’d rather spend some time to go out and actually canvass prices because sadly, our country is yet to have a website that can match Amazon for reliability and pricing.

      I will share with you where I usually start canvassing prices.

      Computers: Gilmore area or V-Mall in Greenhills (you can even get lower prices if you pay with cash)
      Cameras: Hidalgo area in Quiapo (granted, it might be unsavory for some to go there, so alternatively you can visit Henry’s Camera in Glorietta 5 – it’s one of the stores you can also find in Hidalgo)
      Android tablets: 168 in Divisoria (that’s if you’re looking for those generic China tablets; for branded ones, Gilmore/V-Mall)

      Unfortunately I don’t have a go-to start point for cellphones, since I’m already happy with the specs I get from Cherry mobile. Nor do I have suggestions for the other items Lazada has like toys and appliances.

      Alternatively, you can go to Kimstore for gadget purchases. They have good prices, and I have a positive personal experience from dealing with them. They tell you upfront if they don’t have the item in stock, and they deliver promptly. https://www.facebook.com/kimstorePH

  4. I bought from them twice na, a Canon camera and an Android phone. I opted for COD because I didn’t want to go through the hassle of card verification and I was also concerned about identity theft and card fraud since I worked for a bank before and I am aware of the risks. Thank God I didn’t encounter any problems naman and I love the two gadgets I bought from them. I’m sorry it didn’t work out well for you and your husband.

    • I found these comments too late but I have made a lot of orders from lazada and no problem so far. Goods arrived rather early than expected though I kept changing location as far as Laoag, La Trinidad and Pampanga. Price are reasonable, got 2tb hard drive for my multimedia player, on board camera for my car, sewing machine and cookware for my wife, crocs shoes (much cheaper than in their mall outlets) etc. Never had regrets but I wonder if I made such order if I read those negative experiences earlier. Sorry to hear your stories and btw I used credit card payment for convenience as I cant be always around to receive the goods especially for the gifts to my wife while I am away.

Malas ko naman kasi nacharge ako sa credit card ko tapos kinancel nila yung purchase ko kaya binayaran ko ang international transaction fee at service fee for the unsuccessful transaction. At ang masama doon hindi man lang nila ako ininform na cancelled yung transaction eh successful yung credit card transaction ko ako pa ang nag email. Nabalik yung payment ko after 15days. Sa palagay ko ginawa nila yun kasi ginamit ako yung voucher nila na P200 less, para d madeduct yung discont so icancel nila. Once lang kasi magamit ang voucher nila. Anyway, nagcomplain na ako sa DTI at sana maimbestigahan, for me kasi unfair yung ginawa nila.

      • Thats really bad, did they say why they cancelled the transaction? They should compensate you for their failure, not just a refund but even your wasted time and effort. The least they can do is to apologize and give you another voucher to show their sincerity.

      • They didnt inform me at all. Nakita ko lang sa status online na cancelled. Tapos ako pa yung nag email sa kanila at nagtanong ha! Sabi nila technical problem daw ang reason, d ko alam kung ano yun. Tapos tinanong ko if may paypal account sila, wala daw silang paypal account although nakalagay na they accept paypal payment. Tinawagan ko ang credi card company ko if may problem sa card, sabi sa akin na walang problem sa card, in fact successful daw yung transaction ko sa kanila. D nila alam kung bakit kinansela yung transaction.

Wala kasing valid reason to cancel the transaction kasi nga sa credit card ko successful ang transaction, for me its not a good business practise at unfair para sa customer. Imagine kung d ko tinawagan ang credit card company d ko malalaman na nacharge na pala ako.

  5. Hello! Just to share my own experiences… I bought from Lazada three times already (all those times, I bought books), and they were OK naman. First time, I bought 2 books, they arrived within 2-3 days if I remember right. Tapos bago pa sila noon and they had this promo na they included free movie screening (yung 1st night opening) tickets to Batman. 🙂 Since natuwa ako dun sa free tickets, I bought books again na gusto ko, but this time sobrang natagalan delivery (more than 1 week). I called them up and they said they’re having trouble with LBC (their original courier) so they are finding new couriers to service them. Items arrived after more than 1 week, pero they still gave me free tickets. However, di na nila na-deliver yung tickets since medyo last-minute na bago nung screening. I have to pick the free tickets up at their office in Makati, which I wasn’t able to do. 😦

    Third time I bought from them, wala nang freebie. I bought a Harry Potter complete set. It’s a LOT less expensive than buying the set from National Book Store, kaya I’m very happy with my purchase. 🙂 OK naman yung books…

    Overall, Lazada for me is a good company. Puro COD pala ang payment method ko. I recommend that other buyers use COD as well kasi parang mas safe, kasi kaliwaan. As much as possible, I don’t use my credit card online and I recommend that to others too…

    I’m sorry for those na masama ang experience sa Lazada… Baka nagkataon lang?

  6. It seems that the best way to buy from Lazada is to use COD mode of payment. I already bought two items from them and turned out well. I recommend to use COD method of payment as Queen mentioned.

  7. I have purchased 13 items already from Lazada but i have never had problems with them. Good i bought them thru COD. In fairness to lazada, kahit saang online store marami din akong nababasang mga negative experiences na ganito. Medyo may disadvantage talaga kung thru credit card kc may risk sa billing system kaya COD mas recommended.sa COD machecheck mo munaitems before paying them.kaya kung may gusto ako bilhin pinagiipunan ko muna. It is also worth mentioning that Lazada offers COD even in provincial areas….goodluck sainyo guys hope makatulong sharing ko…

  8. I used to work for them and they had this employee promo. So ayun I decided to order something. Naku it was a hellish experience. I didn’t receive my item ONE MONTH after I ordered it.

    Naku from an insider’s perspective… I am glad wala na ako there! Everything is disorganized and we were worked to death minsan trying to adjust for a certain department’s mistakes.

    I think medyo okay na doon ngayon but tsk, I wouldn’t wanna order there anymore.

  9. I should have read these kind of reviews before I ordered from lazada. I’m also having the same bad online shopping experience. I ordered an item from them more than a week ago. It was supposed to be gift for someone for a certain special ocasion. I still haven’t received the item yet. It’s very disappointing. Good thing I chose COD as mode of payment. Final word: DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!

  11. dapat COD ang ginawang transaction. mas mainam kasi pag dumating yung package you can check it then pag may defect soli agad sa courier at no cost. madami na akong purchases sa Lazada at COD ang transactions. Im from Isabela pa at talagang hahanapin nila ang address mo kahit sa liblib na pook ka pa nakatira. Hope Lazada will reimburse to you kung ano man ang kanilang pagkukulang. Merry Christmas!

  12. Just read this blog. I ordered from lazada a few minutes ago lang. Now i dont think ill be able to sleep well until i get my purchsed item. And i used my credit card as well. Kinakabahan ako kasi the first transaction did not push thru so i had to reorder the item. I really hope and pray that i wont be a victim of this apparently deceiving online shop. Now i have to wait in the next five days for my item. Fingers crossed

I’ve ordered something it’s been a week already I did not get any update on that, no email no text no email even, I’ve sent an email but no reply on that, LAZADA is FRAUD, They’re lucky because in Philippines there is not consumer law if there is I’ll sue them first, but I’ve still sue them under credit card fraud, because I’ve already paid it and did not get anything, sent email but no reply it means they are fraud. Guys don’t ever buy anything from LAZADA, anyone has good experience with LADAZA they’re lucky but this is my experience with LAZADA. For me they are Just a Fraud Company.

  14. Have the same bad experience, i was billed by my credit company and they said the the transaction went through. When i emailed lazada.com.ph, they said that the transaction was cancelled due to technical reason and offer a cash on delivery instead, what a trick!

    • Nag COD din ako , gusto ko nga sana na buksan agad para ma inspect yung item na inorder ko pero di pumayag yung LBC delivery man at baka sa kanya daw i-charge yung item. Pag bukas ko ay di ko napansin agad yung mga defects dahil na rin sa pagpipirma ko dun sa dalawang papel nag LBC. Nabigay ko na yung bayad ko . Pag pasok ko sa loob ng bahay ay saka ko pa na inspect fully yung item… Grabe! nakaka panghinayang ang P999.00 na bag. MANGO pa naman ang brand nya. Ang daming defects. Di ka talaga maniniwala na Mango brand yun kasi napaka lousy ng pag kaka-gawa. May punit at mga sinulid pa. Kung makita nyo lang ang bag na tito ay sasabihin nyo mukhang sa bargain galing. Buti pa nga mga ukay ukay mas may personalidad, etong bag ko nakakahiya gamitin.

  17. You can report your experience to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). We have the Consumer Protection Act of 1992 or Republic Act 7394. You could also go to the media. This site has not only been victimizing Filipinos but also Malaysian -it’s really a Malaysian company-. Hope you follow my advice so that they won’t victimize others.

  19. Sorry to hear your sad experiences but I guess those were long ago when they just started. I had more than 5 transactions with Lazada and all of them were by credit card payment. All of them came within 3 days though I had them delivered on different cities, Laoag City, Baguio City and San Fernando City. I was not asked for a photocopy of my card nor anyone called me, they were all purely online payment via computer. The products were of good quality with specs as indicated on their website and we enjoy them so much. Goodluck to all who wish to buy from them, Iwill surely make an order from them.

  25. Hi same here…after one week of waiting cancelled din ang order, ako pa mismo ang tumawag sa customer service today to verify the status of my order. According to the customer service representative na nakausap ko today out of stock na daw…I am so disappointed kc twice pa ako tumawag sa Lazada last week to verify kung available ung item at sinabi nila available pa daw. Sana naman ma process agad ang refund ko within 24 to 48 hours kasi un ang sinabi nila.

    • Will share my experience. Bought a coffeemaker and an sd card. Transaction was smooth paid via cc. However after less than 6 uses with the coffeemaker it suddenly conked out,will not drip/brew anymore. ms.shane of lazada was very helpful when i called up, she guided menon what to do and the timeline for the refund. Wanted a replacement but if paid via cc it’s automatic refund. Anyway when i had the defective item taken to lbc to be returned, there was a pile of items for return to lazada. Turned out many customers also wanted to return their purchases. Lbc confirmed that they frequently receive items for return to lazada. My beef now with lazada is the quality of their items; are these refurbished or really brand new? That coffeemaker was handled very carefully and seldom used. I just received an email that my refund via cc is in process. Their communication is faultless as they frequently emailed me updates. Kudos to this blog btw, mommy J!

    my transactions with lazada were all COD so wala naman ako naging problem so far, though naexperience ko na un nagcheck out ako but suddenly out of stock daw so i had to cancel, maybe delayed un update ng counts ng stocks nila kasi sa pagkakalaam ko un ibang items hindi on hand, manggagaling pa sa mismong seller, kaya nagkakaroon ng conflicts sa part na un.. not really sure pero bigyan ko lang din sila ng benefit of the doubt.. hopefully ma-improve nila un system nila pagdating sa card transactions, and customer assistance.. from what i can see kasi un talaga un ugat ng problema..
    kaya to be sure, kung bibili sa lazada, cod nalang talaga and keep from buying costly items esp. high-end gadgets. 🙂

  29. i ordered this week from them, after just a day the item was already delivered so i was impressed, (i payed thru COD) tho i think i praised them too soon because the item was defective, i was planning on returning it today but after reading some reviews, i was having second thoughts if i would just fix it myself (remedyohan ko na lang) since mendable naman, but the point is, it should’ve been delivered 100% working. To think it was my first time ordering from them, i’m really pissed, i should’ve read reviews before ordering from them or any online store (NOTE TO SELF)

  31. hi! i need help about my ACCIDENTAL purchase in lazada. i was supposed to buy a Loom bands kit with a discount of 81% imagine parang wala ng matira dun sa price. what pisses me off the most is that i have contacted them through email and the customer service hotline but iisa lang ang sagot ng mail, under construction daw yung hotline. paano ko macacancel yung order ko? lazada dicouraged me alot after reading blogs like this. i remember putting 3 items in my cart but i removed the 2 others and when i placed my order the receipt says that i have purchased only one item and nung nareceive ko yung email they were 3! sino banaman ang hindi mabibigla doon? i am still a student at nagiipon lang ako ng galing sa baon ko at sinigurado ko na sakto na ang pera ko bago ko iplace yung order ko pero nagulat nalang ako ng naging tatlo yung order ko. and when i checked the order tracking the one i confrmed buying says “Your order has been verified” at yung iba ay wala.. then i received another email sating that my order is going to be delayed. and then i thought of it again.. maybe that is their way of telling that my order is now cancelled. so i calmed and search for new things to buy on olx.ph and nacontact ko na yung pagbibilhan ko. and then tinry ko ulit na magsend ng mail at magbasa ng blogs tapo nakita ko ito kaya baka may makatulong saakin. And oh by the way, i chose COD. pwede naman siguro sabihin sa nagdedeliver na im returning the items for i tried to cancel them and i thought that it was cancelled already right? and beacuse thats the reason i chose cod in the first place.

  34. I purchased a tablet last tuesday. I paid via paypal which is connected to my cc. The next day, they cancelled my order without prior notice or reasons. It’s been a week wala pa rin ung refund ko sa paypal. How long does it take ba para matanggap un? 😦 kabanas kasi after nilang mareceive ung payment ko kinansel nila ung order ko. 😦 kung ganusila kabilis tumanggap ng bayad sya namang tagal ng refund ko 😦

    • You have to be careful Angelique… in our case they kept saying to just use the credit to purchase something else even if we said we didn’t like anything. To be honest they only were quick to respond to us AFTER my blog post about them spread online.

Pero nakakabwisit lalo kasi dinedeny nilang wala daw silang payment na nareceive galing sa paypal. Grrr… kabanas nagsisinungaling pa sila sa akin ngaun, eh di yun sinampal ko sila ng transaction details ko galing paypal. Di nila pwede sabihing sinungaling ung paypal ung cc provider ko. Nagreply lang sila nung sinabi kong magfifile na ako ng complaint sa DTI. Still waiting again sa reply nila hay.

  36. Makareklamo nga sa DTI! Ngayon ang modus nila is separate shipping of items. Pag maramihan bibilhin mo, they will split the items for the reason na di ko magets, para daw to hasten the delivery. The second batch of items, magteten days na wala pa ring notification sa email if it’s already shipped out. Grabe, the customer service sucks to the core. Garapalan talaga tong pangagantso nila.

  37. Akala ko 2 batches lang, 3 pala, ang ikatlo nearly 3 weeks na since the first one… wala pa ring notification kung naempake na.dropshippers ba sila? Pag in-stock ang items it means ready to be delivered…. Bakit mas matagal shipping nila kesa umorder sa AMAZON. Di na talaga ako babalik sa LAZADA. NEVER!!!

  41. I ordered an Asus Zenfone 6 Flip Cover (Pearly White) and as per 2GO tracking app the package was received by 2GO branch on Sept.29, 2014 at 6PM.

    I have waited the delivery for the whole day ( of Sept. 30) since 2GO tracking app update indicated that the package was out for delivery at 9AM.I t is already 4PM and there has been no delivery yet so I went to their branch here in our place to inquire. Ang ganda ng sagot nila. Yung delivery nila sa malayo nagdeliver muna at bukas na lang sana idedeliver yung sa inyo!!!!

    In short, they released the package to me and what is worst, after checking the cover – it is way toooo small for my Zenfone 6!The size of the delivered cover is for Zenfone 5!!!ANO BA YAN!Do they know how to read?!They are a bunch of incompetent, money suckers!   42. I suggest not buying gadgets or appliance such as laptop or panini maker as these might turn out to be defective. You’ll just find yourself using valuable time negotiating with lazada for returns and refunds. These online shops are great for specific purchases such as books and cds.

  45. Advice lang sa mga online shoppers, do not buy signature bags from them. I’ve read lots of blogs and forums about fake bags circulating among online stores such as lazada and metrodeal. I’m not saying na lahat ng binebenta nila ay fake but you may opt to buy on physical stores for bags instead of buying them online, because you can never guarantee its authenticity. Also, most online purchases does not include warranty cards from the main store, rather, defective items can only be returned to the supplier for either replacement or refund kaya you can never tell kung napeke ka ba or hindi. And knowing these online stores, never naman nilang aaminin kung fake nga ba talaga yung nabili mo kahit ni-refund ka na nila (which is a proof of guilt na nga) to protect their reputation and credibility. Ingat na lang po tayo, and mas ok kung magre-research muna bago mag-purchase, yung ibang products kasi nila, available din sa mga local stores, eg. Cdr-king, japan home etc. and sometimes its a lot cheaper pa nga, yung convenience lang din talaga minsan ang binabayaran. 😊

  46. My Mom ordered a Happy Call Pan from Lazada after two days dumating yung item. Mabilis yung delivery nila but the problem was the item. Nakabukas na yung box and the guy said na yung trainee daw nila ang nagbukas nung item nagkamali daw kasi ng deliver sila. Buti na lang COD kami , kaya hindi namin tinanggap yung happy call pan, sobrang nakaka disappointed lang talaga.

    Bought from them last Nov. 11. – Online Revolution Sale
    Around 115K+ of laptops and TVs via CC coz super mura
    Mga 8 transaction yun.
    A day after the transaction when I checked my account sa Lazada
    2 cancelled and after a couples of hours 2 na naman.
    So I asked them what happened, sabi nila invalid reason daw yung dahilan at super sensitive daw ng system nila
    so kung iba yung account holder and credit card holder details i-rereject daw.
    I used 4 different cards coz di kaya ng credit limit ng isang card lang.
    1 in my name, 1 in my sister’s name & 2 in my aunt’s name – of course with their permission.
    Tumawag pa nga yung credit card company ng Tita ko sa kanya to confirm kung alam nya yung mga transaction.
    So sabi ko naman kung ganon pala na super sensitive ng system nyo bakit yung 1 dun sa 5 transactions na ang
    gamit is yung credit card ng tita ko ay successful yung verification sa system nila. Dapat cancelled din pati yung isa dahil super sensitive nga ng system nila, diba? And bakit wala man lang communication galing sa kanila. Wala man lang verification thru sms or email. Basta email na lang na cancelled yung order. So sabi nila iche-check daw nila. So we called again after a few hours. Iba namang reason binigay ng supervisor, nadecline daw ng bank mga transaction kaya na-cancel, so sabi ko bakit di mo yan sinabi sa akin kanina dahil daw tumawag yung payments supervisor nila sa credit card company ng tita ko and yun daw ang sabi. So ang ginawa namin tinawagan namin yung CC company ng tita ko and ang sabi nila all transactions were approved naman daw pero the lazada supervisor insists na the bank declined and di daw yun alam ng kausap naming CC customer rep. So we told the CC rep. na gusto namin kumausap ng supervisor nya. And ang sabi naman ng supervisor approved daw sa kanila lahat yung transaction. So we told the supervisor from Lazada that, ang sabi nya i-confirm nya daw uli and they will call us back. So the next day yung natirang 4 transaction akala ko OK na kasi order verified na and for shipping na and yung iba shipped na (ex. transaction 1 – 1 laptop for shipping and 1 tv already shipped, transaction 2 – 1 laptop for shipping and 1 phone already shipped). After a few hours, I checked my Lazada account again and cancelled na lahat ng for shipping. I called Lazada to asked what happened this time. And sabi nung payments supervisor nila dahil malaki daw at sunod-sunod yung mag order nag red-alert daw yung acquiring bank nila. And more than 8 transaction daw (yung isa COD kaya di ko na sinama) Sabi ko naman may nakalagay bang limit sa website nyo na hanggang 8 transaction lang pwede gawin within a day. And ang ine-expect nyo ba isa or dalawang item lang bibilhin ng customer, bakit pa kayo nag sale kung ganon? Sabi ko bakit di ba sila nagverify sa CC company and the CC company approved naman lahat ng transaction. So sabi ko bakit pati yung transaction gamit yung sarili kung CC na-cancel din. Sabi nya lahat daw ng transaction under my account maca-cancel dahil iisa daw yung email. So sabi ko bakit yung ibang items nag-ship, diba super sensitive nga ng system nyo, ang sabi nya di nya alam so ipapa-cancel nya na lang yung mga na-shipped na, So sabi ko bakit ganon, pinaasa nyo lang kami na-idedeliver nyo yung item tapos bigla nyo i-cacancel. Tapos pa-iba pa kayo ng rason. Paano ngayong yan around 115k+ pesos yung floating sa mga CC namin tapos ine-expect nyo na mag-iintay kami ng 5-15 banking days para ma-reversed yung mga transaction. Mabilis lang sila kumuha ng payment- mintues or seconds lang pero pag magrerefund aabutin kayo ng buwan. FAIR ba yun?
    I already received a summon from DTI for a mediation with Lazada on Nov. 18 and 20.

  49. i ordered a phone a week ago which is in stock – based on their website, after 2 days, order status is going through verification process pa din. nag e-mail ako at sabi ko lagpas na sa 24-48hrs verification deadline, at sabi ko i cancel na lang yung order at ibalik nila un charge sa card ko. after ilang hrs, tumawag un cust support nila at dun lang nag verify. tinanong ko kung gaano ka tagal bago mag ship from merchant since i order pa nila from hong-kong, sabi nila 5-15 business days, nag ask ako gano ka tagal refund process, sabi nya 5-15 days din daw depende sa bank. since same turn-around time lang nman, pina tuloy ko na un order. then after the verifying the card details at i confirm yung item, sabi nila i pprocess na ung order. after ilang mins, nag change na ung status to order verified. after 24 hrs. processing na daw sa mechant. after another 24 hrs, nag update na ready for shipment na daw… pag check ko the next day kung may tracking number na, kaso nag blank yung order status. so nag email ulit ako, at tinanong ano nangyari. nag reply yung support nila at sabi na out of stock daw yung item due to high demand. sobrang bullshit ng service at support ng lazada. after nila i confirm na na order at processing na dun sa warehouse ng merchant, bigla sila mag sasabi ng out of stock. scam shit tong lazada na to.

    Example, if you have to give a scanned image of your driver’s licence … BLUR EVERYTHING, itira mo lang yung 1st name, surname and licence number. Pati signature mo, i-blur mo!

  52. Same thing happened to me. Their courier 2Go sucks. I ordered an item expecting it to be at my house in a week. By the third week, I decided to cancel my order, but they still billed me. Until now, they haven’t refunded me. I wasn’t going to post anything bad about them, but now… I am so disappointed with them and will never buy anything from them again. I also told my friends not to buy anything from them. They have terrible customer service!

  54. I also would like to share my recent experience with Lazada. Last Dec 15 I tried to purchase an item online using my BDO debit card (Mastercard), but got “payment rejected” after entering my details. I tried again with the same response. I then used a different card (with different BDO account) and that transaction went through, with a different order number, of course. I received various emails from Lazada informing me that the first order was cancelled.
    I am a bit lazy in keeping track of my bank account statements (actually I normally don’t bother to look at them at all, since I use the account only for online payment of utilities), but yesterday I got a bill from Skype, according to which I didn’t pay the December invoice yet. I didn’t remember, so I did check my bank account and saw that I indeed forgot to pay Skype. What I also saw is that Lazada debited my account three times for the first order and credited the amount (Php 16,540) only twice!
    I tried to call Lazada, but they are not taking calls. I tried to send a question via the contact link on their website, but “message sending failed”. So I wrote them an email and got the system generated “ticket was opened” reply. I also wrote to the regional director of Lazada’s parent company (Rocket Group), and he personally responded the same day, thanking me for the information and informing me that he has forwarded my mail to Lazada’s MD (I hope that is the managing director, and not a Medical Doctor), and that they will fix the error and that their customer care will contact me to facilitate refund. Let’s see what happens next.
    What worries me is that an error like this is at all possible. Their system replies “payment rejected” although my account was debited for the full amount. In my opinion this is what I would call a “critical” system error for a company involved in online selling. (By the way: COD was not possible for this item!). I wonder if anybody has had the same experience in the past. I also wonder how often this happens, without duped customers noticing it. If this has happened before (and I have no reason to assume that it hasn’t) I would wonder if this is indeed a system error or maybe it is a systematic error.

    • Hi. this happened to me too. Lazada is selling a 3tb seagate PORTABLE slim hard drive for only p6700. It turns out to be a 3tb seagate DESKTOP drive (yea the bulky one) and later they changed the picture to the “correct” one which i apparently received. Good thing i had the screenshot if the item (the slim one) before i purchased it.

      Pls just try to buy from a store. Bec. words cnt describe how stress i am with lazada.com.ph. Even if i had a screenshots they are turning blind on my concerns. I just wish i drove to the store, pay a parking fee and fall in-line to purchase my item.

Hi, suki na po ako ng Lazada, dun po ako namimili ng appliances like washing machine, ref, etc.. every month ako kung bumili and I use discount coupons everytime I checkout laki ng discount eh kung icocompare mo sa prices dito sa province and free shipping pa sila. Ang kagandahan lang sa kanila pg di mo gusto pwede mong ibalik without paying any SF.

    My only bad experience is when I bought a computer chair, nung hinatid kulang ng armrest di email kagad ako sa Lazada, then reply naman kagad sila. Afte 2 emails nila ang sumunod they asked me if I can return the chair nalang kasi out of stocks na. So nagwonder ako bakit maoout of stocks eh set nman yun. So ang ginawa ko kinontact ko ung supplier mismo ng chair (makikita nman kasi kung sino supplier ng items nila) then sinagot nman ako kagad and ipapadala daw nila ung armrest pro my problem is Php800 ung freight via LBC. Juicecolored! ano yun box na malaki? Sinabi ko kasi ok lang mgpay ako ng SF basta reasonable lang. Di naman tama yung Php800. Pinahanap ko ng ibang courier ung mas mura pero hanggang ngayon ala pa ring update Feb 17 pa ung last na email nila. Good thing is nasa Manila husband at papapuntahan ko nlang sa kanya ang office ng supplier.

    Umoorder pa rin ako sa Lazada, actually last order ko kanina lang nka1000 off ako. Tip lang ung mga 50% off, 20% or 30% “minsan” di totoo yan tinataas lang nila price ng item tapos lalagyan ng discount para sabihing mura.. Malimit mgbago ang price sa Lazada halos everyday. Mas maganda mgshopping dun pgweekends and kung my mga okasyon or Holidays I’m sure my discounts na ibibigay :).

  58. I guess swertihan lang talaga ang pagorder sa Lazada, my father already made 2 transactions with them and it was successful. There were no problems in packaging and delivery, everything was smooth. By that, they gained our trust and I thought hassle free talaga umorder sakanila but no, what I experienced was different.

    Nag order ako last March 3, 2015, ang nakalagay sa product page nila “in stock” so I ordered the phone. Once the order has been confirmed, they sent me an email saying na they’ll notify me once they have received the item from the seller for 2 working days & they’ll email me kung ready na for shipment. So after 2 days, I haven’t received any updates. Hinayaan ko nalang muna, pero after 4 days (March 7, 2015) nagemail na ako kung ano status ng order ko tsaka bakit laging error yung product page na inorderan ko whenever I visit it on their website (kinabahan na ako nun kasi parang hindi na ata tama). Sabi nila my order is still in process and expect the delivery within 1-7 days. On March 10, I emailed again for confirmation at di na ako mapakali kasi wala talagang update tsaka ang nakalagay sa order tracking tool nila, in process parin. In total, 6 days na akong walang update sa item na inorder ko samantalang ang sabi nila 2 days lang. Puro lang sila “expect delivery within 1-7 business days”. When they replied, bigla nalang nila sinabi na out of stock na daw pala due to high demand at try parin daw nila ideliver. Nabwisit ako, bakit nila ilalagay sa website nila “in stock” kung wala naman pala talaga. Nagemail ulit ako na i-update nila ako whenever they already have the item on hand tsaka kung kelan ako magexpect ng delivery. Nagreply naman sila, expect the delivery within 1-7 days parin, pero di daw lalagpas ng March 12, 2015. I asked them the day before kung ieexpect ko ba yung item kung dadating. On March 12 around 4AM, I received an email from them na cinancel na pala nila order ko since March 10. Hay Lazada, they made me wait for more than a week, sasabihin na dadating yung package on March 12 tapos cinancel na pala. They didn’t even informed me properly that my order was cancelled. Sobrang paasa nila.

    I used credit card as a payment method, auto deduct sa account if you used credit/debit card once you have placed an order. They emailed me that the refund has been initiated on March 12, 2015, I guess I still have to wait for 5-15 days to make sure na ni-refund talaga nila yung pera. Bawal ka rin magchange ng item kahit same amount lang din ang ioorder mo.
    Mas advisable nga talaga ang COD kung oorder sakanila para walang proproblemahin about the money.

  60. You can have confidence and smooth transactions when buying stuffs sold and fulfilled by LAZADA. But beware of anything sold by Other Seller even though fulfilled by LAZADA. Especially items marked with “Shipped from Overseas”.

  69. My uncle bought a tablet from them 3 years ago. We made our purchase online and even contacted their hotline just to confirm the specs. Yeap they promised 5 days delivery time but it went up to almost 2 weeks – they gave us a lot of reasons like they couldn’t find our house and so on. Also the item that was delivered was a far cry from what it looked like from the picture posted online and what made my uncle even more pissed was the specs were not what they have talked about over the phone. (Instead of having 8gb internal memory the item we received only had 512mb) Yes they agreed for a refund/change item but it was too bothersome. Tsk tsk!

  71. Misleading yung article nagveverify lang ang lazada dahil high ticket item ang mac pro dhil prevalent ang card fraud. So kasalanan ng bumili ndi sya nagprovide copies ng ID & card. Lazada process 3party secured payment gateway online meaning card not present transactions so if may mapulot ako na ccard pwede ako bumili online and getaway with it pero kung cod wla problem. Allowed magstore ng card info ang lazada dhil may PCI compliance certification sila just make sure not to divulge full pan ng card and cvc sa photocopy.

    • When the items you ordered is directly sold and fullfilled by lazada, the less chance of having a problem in terms of item deliveries, refunds, replacements, etc. Items sold by sellers (marketplace), the chance of encountering problems gets high since Lazada need to contact/inform the seller first about item availability and the seller will then be responsible for delays on shipping and the product quality itself. I hope Lazada will take action in this one. I suspect that Lazada accepts sellers easily without too much gauge of how a seller’s handle order transactions. That makes them go into trouble. Well, for me it is acceptable because they are just still starting here in PH. 3 years appear to be long enough but establishing a very stable company takes longer time. Most of the items I ordered were delivered fast/ahead of time, considering that I am in a provincial area. In terms of payment, Cash on Delivery is still be best choice. On the other side, I hope Lazada is performing actions to improve CS support. Some of the CS seemed to send generic copy pasted statements to their customers. I don’t know if they can’t understand me or they are just lazy to fully read my concern. I am not saying all, but some (or few) of Lazada’s employees do not care about customers’ impressions. These employees make the company’s image bad and they put the other good employees in trouble.

  75. Bad publicity is still publicity. Sorry to say this, Mam, but thousands of consumers who use Lazada are laughing right now. First, it’s an online merchant site. Hindi sila yung main supplier ng items. In most items, maraming dealers and you have to do your research to find the best and who has the available stocks. Kaya nga meron silang status na ‘checking on warehouse’ etc. It is very possible na nung nagprocess ng order, meron pang stocks pero nagkaubusan and then later they found out, and they had the courtesy of letting you know.
    They offered you credits, simply because it is harder to process refund for credit card transaction, than to give you special credit to purchase new and better items. What you should have done is as simply asked for discount or voucher for use on next transaction.
    Lastly, their protocol in the use of credit card is actually outstanding. Never did I hear a companies do that for verification, simply because you can dispute charges. Since they verified your identity using id card, you should appreciate it more because they’re protecting your account.
    If this would help, my advice is for you to use Cash on Delivery. I heard you can even decline receiving the package after being delivered by LBC, and that would be free of charge. Imagine kung magkano ang nalulugi nila. This is not to defend lazada, but I’m simply saying that this system is very common in other countries wherein the main mode of payment is through credit cards. You just have to live with it.

I have delt with Lazada directly when I requested the information for the vendor as I want to directly coordinate with them about an item, however they just kept on barking that I should just keep on checking the site…(sigh)

  78. I had both good and bad experiences in dealing with Lazada.

    My first order with them are 2 books – COD. The transaction was smooth.

    Second order was the mosquito killer the amount was 399 (I Think) and I ordered 2 of them and when it was delivered I tested it for 2 weeks. It didn’t kill any mosquitoes,

    Third Order was last December 7 2014 I ordered the Miracle Blade set as a gift for my mom. However, they didn’t deliver it on time. I indicated that my delivery address is our office so I called them up to follow up my order they told me that the delivery team tried to deliver my order at around 9pm. I said to them that just reschedule the deliver from 8-5 the following day. Unfortunately the item was only delivered after January 6 and they said that it was because there are many deliveries during the Christmas Season.

    My last order was an ink set for my Brother printer. They delivered the item promptly, though I haven’t tested it yet the item seems good since it is still factory sealed.

    I worked for a bank awhile back, specifically in credit card fraud. I understand that there are a lot of people who use stolen credit card numbers and buy things online primarily because of its anonymity. I understand that the merchant is partly responsible to give a refund if the item was purchased from a stolen credit card.

    BUT for a legitimate card holder to risk her card and her identity is unacceptable! I too refuse to send a picture of my cards and my i.d.s. Where do Lazada.com.ph thinks credit card fraud starts? It starts from providing to much information to a vendor with an unsecured website. Unsecured meaning you have people of varied background gaining easy access on what should be private information. That is why your payment page is encrypted to begin with!

    We are not saying that Lazada.com.ph and all its employees are thieves. Bankers and call center agents are not all thieves too… but not 1 company can say that they do not have a problem with fraud. Some people do steal.

    There are multiple technological ways to prevent fraud. WHY don’t you (lazada.com.ph) just do a name and address verification with the bank? If you really think that they transaction is “risky” or is “highly likely fraud”, Visa has Verified by Visa.. Mastercard has the SecureCode.

  88. I also had a bad exp with this company. I ordered these badminton shoes at 70% discount. Not a bad deal, right? So I made the order. But instead, I chose the COD payment option. I kept on checking the status, it was on ‘processing’ for more than a week, and then on it’s 10th or so day, the status suddenly changed to ‘cancelled’. I received an email from them saying that the order was cancelled due to the item being out of stick during the order was processed. This is bullshit. Everyday, when I go check the status of the order, I segue to check the item on the website. It was still on 70% off and available. To my dismay, the day that the order was cancelled, I went ahead and attempt to reorder, but this time the same pair of was no longer 70% off. I replied to their email, expressing my utmost disappointment. And during this day, someone from Lazada called me with very good news – saying they can reprocess my order. I was delighted. Until they called the second time confirming my selected shoe size isn’t available. I was willing to give Lazada a chance but they blew it. This is the kind of practice shady companies do and I wonder how they got so big of a company with this behavior.

I usually check sites like tcat, cashcashpinoy and halohalo. i experienced minimal inconveniences such as wrong sizes delivered, or delayed delivery. it is not really advisable to order gadgets – big or small – from online shops. you cannot actually check the gadget before making the purchase, and it’s really hard to get hold of the support team of any site. also, when you purchase online, try to minimize the amount and not exceed P3000, just to be safe. choose COD if that option is available.

    i just remembered i just ordered a luggage scale and weight loss pills from lazada 2 days ago. crossing my fingers, hoping i don’t encounter any problem.

  94. i’ve bought quite a few items from lazada, and i’m pretty satisfied with their service. there are times when the delivery takes more than a week, but all items ordered arrived.

    i’ve also returned a defective item, and had no problems with it. refund was processed quickly.

    i use paypal to pay for my online purchases. i link my credit card to my paypal account–it’s a much safer way to pay, and refunds are processed faster, too.

    i think what happened in your case was, they ran out of stock during the time it took to verify your card. they should have held the item for you while they did the verification.

    did you black out the parts in your credit card that they indicated? the fact that they said that in the email showed good faith, at least, from my point of view. i’ve encountered establishments here that ask for photocopies of my credit card, and wouldn’t allow me to black out the numbers. yun ang mas delikado.

We expected to be booked with our preferred dates but despite purchasing the vouchers early, the agency told us they can’t booked us but IF we really want the dates they want us to add 3k each. CS assured me that the phone have a 1yr warranty for parts and service. To make the story short the phone was having issue after 6months called CS again how i can claim the warranty, was advise to bring the phone to any sony shop together with the receipt..after a week sony called that the phone is not under warranty because the product is from hongkong. was charge 2,500. called CS to complain and all they can say We are sorry. All the while we were told the item is available only to find out after all the hassle of compliance to make the purchase that it is not available. Since then I have not used your site to shop as it felt like you were just collecting data by using an amazing promo. As i read the comments, I noticed that those who are having problems are those who are ordering gadgets and using credit card. I always opted for COD and the items I ordered are usually for home use except one item which is a cheap water proof camera. All in good conditon and delivered early. I was impressed with their service until I read this blog. I think I will never use my credit card or buy expensive gadgets from lazada. Thanks for this blog.   106. Honestly, I’ve tried buying from their site as well. They do deliver their items but one thing I’ve learned from them, don’t buy using your credit card! If you do so, they tend to delay delivery of the products as compared when we buy from them using cash on delivery as method of payment. This saves you a lot of time and worry of not having products delivered to you. You can also easily cancel your order this way as compared if you’re charged in your credit card. Their customer support also sucks, you need to keep on nagging them before they’ll give in. Good to hear that they gave you and your husband full refund. They can really be a pain in the ass sometimes.

Although there were some factory defects but patiently waiting for the replacement after we returned the item was scary but atleast dumating ang replacement, sometimes 2 times ang problem which is from the seller not lazada kase may iba na peke pala binebenta where lazada cannot monitor thousands of items being shipped. I hope maayos ung sistema i dont want this company to close kasi ang laking tulong and less hassle sa pagshop ng mga gamit at products.

I’ve been shopping at Lazada for the longest time and purchased a lot of items (mostly petty things like bags, perfume, tent) nothing above 5k thru credit card. All smooth transactions naman and proper credit card postings kaya I was a fan of the site.

    But when I think about it, everytime I use my card sa ibang online shopping sites they require a One Time Pin for security purposes kaso sa Lazada hindi nag pprompt yun. Dun ako kinakabahan lagi kaya I decided to stop buying narin kasi I have a gut feel na hindi secure ang site na ito.

    For me, best options would be COD and not purchase high amounts (like more than 5k/ 10k) sa ganitong merchant site, especially gadgets talaga. I didn’t buy the Asus Zenfone na very cheap sa kanilang site kasi nakakakaba din.

    I really hope that they make right with you and pray na ayusin na nila all transactions in the future. Godbless!

    • Bought a steam cleaner from then which was delivered INCOMPLETE. The item missing was a major part which was why the cleaner was rendered USELESS. I emailed them right away about the missing item and they only replied with their standard automated response. Then now they refuse my claim for refund because they say that they emailed separately giving instructions on return when I never received anything .
      I repeat my message to Lazada:
      The only reply I got was the automated reply you had telling me that my email had been received. This was followed by again another automated email telling me that my concerns would be addressed within 24 to 48 hours.

      But alas, more than 2 months had passed and there was no email. That was why I called already.

      In fact, before I called, I even checked my email account for any correspondence from you to make sure that I did not miss anything. There was only the thread containing the 2 mails from you.

      I reiterate and firmly state on my cost honor that I did not receive any email dated December 30.

      This also makes me wonder why that email was never mentioned in any of the threads. Isn’t it odd that the most important email would be taken out of the thread????

      I have been very patient and cooperative with all your seemingly futile investigations, talking endlessly to all your customer support agents who would ask me the same questions and give me the same insignificant feedback telling me that they would get back to me within 24 to 48 hours. I have repeatedly stated that there was no email and yet now you email me and mention again the Dec 30 email which I never received ??? Do all my pleas fall on deaf ears????   116. Hi. I’ve read your blog before but I still decided to push through with my order. I was thinking that maybe it would be an okay transaction for me. I took a big risk, and I’m getting anxious about it.
    I ordered a refurbished iphone 5 64gb last May 13 through debit card. I recieved an order confirmation email a few minutes after placing my order. The next day, May 14, no verification email came but I checked my debit card balance and discovered they’ve charged it to my card already. So I asked them via email why this order verification is taking more than a day and what is there left to verify if they’ve gotten the payment from my debit card already. They told me to expect a call from them, within 24 to 48 hours. No one called. Yesterday, May 15, I was able to reach their costumer service hotline and a representative told me that it takes 2 to 3 days to verify an order since it is coming from a seller from Hong Kong. She told me to wait for a call within the day. No emails, no calls again. Just this morning, May 16, I sent another email but no one replied this time. 😦

    Does it really take this long for a verification? I’m getting really nervous and a bit paranoid about this. 😦

  118. Been using Lazada multiple times already both on credit card and COD.. I’ve had no problems with them or my delivered purchases ranging from low to high priced valuables. My latest purchase was my ASUS and DELL laptop together with a GoPro 4 Camera and still no problems have arisen. I, among other satisfied customers would not want this company to shut down. Their business has been running for a short period of 4 years and it is not uncommon for mistakes to be made as like other small and large businesses. Let us be careful with the words we use and not make these wrongful accusations..

Good thing I was on Cash on Delivery so I lost nothing. That was the first bad experience on my online shopping life so far.

  122. I recommend choosing Cash-on-Delivery when you’re buying from online stores like Lazada and Zalora. It’s the best way to receive you product and paying for them. People should be extra careful buying things online.

  123. I think they’ve improved greatly since this blog started (2013). I’m a new (2015) and satisfied Lazada customer. I ordered from them 4 times already with maybe 10 items or more. I used my CC for these transactions. I received the items as advertised. Although there are still room for improvements. such as 1) most of my Items arrive in 15 days. quite a wait. I’m just in cavite. 2) one item I received is smaller than advertised. 3rd party sellers are sometimes not honest with their product descriptions. 3) one item I had to wait 15 days before being told that it was out of stock (eventhough it didn’t have a counter saying that the stocks are waning like the other items (e.g. 3 items left)). But they gave me a voucher half the value of the item for that inconvenience which was good.

    Overall, positive experience using lazada.com. Most of the problems these days are from 3rd party sellers i think.

Almost the same case for me, my mom bought a center table and use my name when they deliver the item it was COD but we found out that the item was damaged so I send them back to lazada but they told me that the item is not available so they process refund. It took 2 months for them to process the refund and when they send me the details my name they put was incorrect, LBC cannot release the cash unless lazada will correct my name. I emailed lazada about this, after 2weeks they replied that and in my surprise it was already claimed. I complaint about it in Lazada and in LBC. I was really pissed off because it looks like it was an inside job. I do believe that employee from lazada took my money.

  126. After calling me and asking my husbands informations in the card, they declined my order. I was so dissapointed because why did they get money from our cc then suddenly declined our order? they have no explanation to this. they only got 15,000 from the credit card. fucking dont buy in Lazada!!
